Another history has been made as LOUD becomes the first-ever Brazilian VALORANT team to beat a team from the NA region and qualify for the VCT Masters Reykjavík Finals. They played the upper finals against OpTic Gaming, who came in as favorites and beat them by 2-1 in one of the most thrilling games in the tournament. Less showed a tremendous performance, especially in the Icebox map where he took 33 kills with only 11 deaths.
The first map, Fracture, was picked by OpTic, and it became a nightmare for LOUD as they managed to win only two rounds in the whole match, i.e., seventh and 10th. OpTic completely crushed LOUD to take the lead, and Victor and Yay were the stars again as they secured 21 and 19 kills, respectively, in the first map.
The second map, Ascent, was LOUD’s pick, and they started by winning the first two rounds; however, it didn’t take OpTic long to even the scores by winning three consecutive rounds. The game went back and forth after that; however, OpTic finished the first with the lead of two points.
At that time, everyone thought that LOUD’s journey in VCT Masters Reykjavík was over; however, they completely turned the tables around in the second half. LOUD let OpTic win only a single round in the second half to win the second map by 13-8 and keep the hopes of Brazilian fans alive.
The final map, Icebox, gave LOUD a massive lead in the beginning as they won seven rounds out of nine in the first half before OpTic won three consecutive rounds to close the gap to just two points. LOUD started the second half by dominating in the first two rounds; however, OpTic made a comeback by winning three consecutive rounds.
LOUD then snatched the next three rounds to take the score to 12-8, and their fans were hoping for them to win the game soon. However, it wasn’t over as OpTic fought till the end and won three rounds one after the other to put 12-11 on the board, hoping to enter overtime. LOUD then thrashed them in the next round to win a game of ups and downs by 2-1 and secure their spot in the VCT Masters Reykjavík Finals.
Now the question is whom they will be facing in the finals? Will it be OpTic Gaming, ZETA DIVISION, or Paper Rex? Only time will tell.
