OpTic Gaming from North America has emerged as the winner of 2022 VCT Masters Reykjavík by beating LOUD by 3-0 in a thrilling best of five series. Every game was full of ups and downs where OpTic first dominated massively on every map, but LOUD made a comeback every time but couldn’t themselves to the victory. Yay showcased an incredible performance in the series and took the maximum number of kills, i.e., 74.
OpTic started the first map, Ascent, aggressively, and they didn’t give LOUD any chance to win the first four rounds to get a four-point lead. pANcada’s clean shots in the fifth round helped LOUD put 4-1 on the board; however, they couldn’t do much as OpTic snatched the next four rounds back to back. LOUD was pushed on the back foot as the first half ended with a score of 10-2.
LOUD woke up in the second half and thrashed OpTic by winning seven rounds out of eight. It was a remarkable comeback from LOUD; however, it was not enough to stop the opponent team, especially Marved, as OpTic moves ahead in the series by 1-0.
The second map, Bind, had a similar story where OpTic destroyed LOUD in the first half, letting them win only four rounds. However, LOUD made a comeback in the second half by winning six rounds back to back, but at last, OpTic won three consecutive rounds to take the lead back. The map was pushed to overtime; however, OpTic secured the win once again by 14-12.
LOUD was under so much pressure now, and it was clearly visible in the first half as they once again couldn’t keep up with OpTic, and after the first half, OpTic had a four-point lead. It was pretty evident by then that OpTic would be taking the trophy home; however, LOUD again made an insane comeback in the second half but couldn’t capitalize on it. The map entered overtime twice, and OpTic ended the game by winning the 2022 VCT Masters Reykjavík by 15-13.
