As per the rumors, Ubisoft is all set to announce their new mobile title, and it is speculated to be Rainbow Six Siege Mobile, the mobile version of their iconic tactical shooter, ‘Rainbow Six Siege.’ The alleged mystery game is developed in collaboration with WeGame (Tencent), and here are some of the clues hinting toward an announcement of the game on April 6.
Rainbow Six Siege Mobile Announcement and Rumours
It all began last year when Ubisoft Halifax sent a playtest survey targeting mobile gamers about how familiar they were with Rainbow Six Siege. Additionally, subtle clues about its release were indicated during Tencent’s fourth quarterly earnings call, where ‘Projects with Ubisoft’ was put on a release window of 2023, meaning this mystery game could be released in 2023.
The details are still foggy; however, we should be expecting more information about the game via an official announcement on April 6, according to the prominent leaker Tom Henderson. It does seem that the game will follow the standard format of the release of mobile video games by making it available to selective players for beta testing initially, all depending on their regions.
One of the sources who had witnessed a behind-the-scenes presentation described the game as ‘massive for the mobile market’ and also that ‘it will be a mobile game that Siege fans will love”.
Last year Ubisoft also shut down one of the clones for Rainbow Six Siege called ‘Area F2’. According to the lawsuit, Ubisoft suggested that the game resembled the original so much that they were identical.
Although these clues are subtle, they’re pointing towards the direction of another iconic PC game, ‘Rainbow Six Siege,’ making its way to mobile platforms. It is expected to follow a freemium model that includes the game being free, but some cosmetics and weapons require real money to be unlocked.
Mobile gamers have received harsh criticism from PC and console gamers. Still, none can deny that mobile gaming is getting extremely popular by the day and many industry veterans even call it the future of gaming.
