The second match of the VCT Masters Reykjavík group stage is over, and Team Liquid has defeated KRÜ Esports by 2-0. Each round in the match came with its own twist and turns, which everyone was hoping for.
At the beginning of the first map, i.e., Fracture, things looked pretty close as both the teams kept snatching rounds from each other. However, it was the 10th round when Team Liquid started taking the game away from KRÜ Esports with their aggressive play. While after the first half, Liquid had a two-point lead, they didn’t let KRÜ Esports win even a single round in the second half, thus beating them in their map pick by 13-5.
The next map, Ascent, was Team Liquid’s pick, and they started strong, but then, three consecutive rounds won by KRÜ Esports pushed them behind by two points. However, ScreaM managed to pull a brilliant 1v4 clutch, and early picks from Team Liquid in the following rounds made things even for both the teams in the first half.
On the other hand, KRÜ Esports dominated the second half at first, especially after an insane 1v4 clutch by Klaus as they took a three-point lead in the 17th round. However, Team Liquid turned the tables around after winning an eco round and conquering four rounds, one after the other. The game again shifted towards KRÜ Esports, but as they were going to win, a fantastic ace by Nivera pushed the game to overtime.
After going back and forth for another five rounds, Team Liquid emerged as the winner by beating KRÜ Esports by 15-14. They will now battle against the OpTic Gaming vs. XERXIA Esports winner on April 12 for a spot in the VCT Masters Reykjavík playoffs.
